Sherman Chu

Principle Speech Language Pathologist and Early Interventionist

Sherman’s passion for supporting children’s communication began early in her career and has continued to grow through her work with young children and their families. She is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who works closely with children aged 1–6 years, supporting them to build their communication skills.

After completing her Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Speech Language Pathology at the University of Sydney, Sherman gained experience across a variety of settings in both Sydney and Melbourne. Her work has spanned community health, private practice, and university teaching, including her role as a Senior Speech Pathologist with NSW Health and her contributions to teaching at the University of Sydney and La Trobe University.

Through these experiences, Sherman has developed a warm, family-centred approach to therapy. She values the important role that families and carers play in each child’s development and works collaboratively to create supportive, engaging therapy experiences. Her focus is on helping children build meaningful, functional communication skills that carry over into everyday life.

Sherman has a special interest in early intervention, particularly in supporting early language development and working with children with speech sound difficulties. She is committed to helping each child feel confident in their communication, and to supporting families as they watch their child’s skills grow and flourish.
